THE END OF ME: Tak Berdaya Supaya Dikuatkan (Kyle Idleman)

Once there was a man who had been disabled for thirty-eight years and lived near a pool called Bethesda (John 5: 2-4). It must be very tiring to wait for a recovery for almost 4 decades! Then, Jesus faced him and asked: "Do you want to be healed?" (John 5: 6). Such a silly question at first. The true desire for him is a healing. Obviously. Why did Jesus have to say like this? Am I wrong? Until I realize something from this book: Banyak orang datang ke gereja tapi tidak benar-benar menginginkan pertolongan Allah." This question, for real, turned directly to the main problem.

The point is everyone have to face "the end of me" in order to get a healing. We may feel that we are okay with our condition. Saying that everything is under control, which is not. Yeah, healing is a choice. It takes price to admit that we are helpless and need someone else to help. Have you ever felt to ask for a help is a hard decision to do?

Let us see how this man responded him. "Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me." (John 5: 7). After this man was asked by Jesus, this man was sure his true motive had being dug. That sentence can be resumed as "I can not". In some point of view, it is translated into "I do not want". For example, when someone tell that "he can not get along with my wife" then the counselor would translate it into "I do not want to get along with my wife".
"Yang perlu kita bawa kepada-Nya adalah ketidakberdayaan kita, dan Ia menjumpai kita di sana, di akhir keakuan kita."

Then, Jesus replied: "Get up, take up your bed, and walk." (John 5: 8). This is applied for us. "Pengampunan atas dosa kita hanyalah langkah pertama. Yesus menguatkan kita untuk berdiri dan berjalan ke dalam hidup baru, untuk menghadapi setiap hari baru dalam kuasa Roh Kudus. Kita harus sampai pada keakuan kita dan bersiap mendengarkan serta melakukan apa yang Yesus perintahkan... Sekali kita sampai di akhir keakuan kita dan mengalam langkah awal bersama Kristus, kita berbagi kemenangan, dan perayaan kemenangan pun merebak di momen-momen tak terduga"

COMING ALONGSIDE: Our Daily Bread

Learning from Exodus 17: 8-16, when Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim, Moses prayed for a help to the LORD. He went to the top of the hill with Aaron and Hur. When his hands grew weary, Aaron and Hur keep his hands up so Israel overwhelmed Amalek.

"Moses needed help and support in the middle of a battle with the Amalekites." Indeed.

LUST IS AN ENTRANCE OF DEATH (2 Samuel 11-15): Bible Reading

Sin produces sin. From chained by lust until the death of King David's sons. Ravishment by King David and Absalom caused the dangerous impact. Absalom became wild. Grudge and revenge.. According to the LORD: "Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife" (2 Samuel: 12: 10).
